1/8/2024 0 Comments Torchlight 2 outlander buildI'd say get rapid fire and chaos burst, combine it with poison burst and on hit effects of your wepaon and you'll wreck mob packs like there is no tomorrow. I have a shotgun build that's fun but I just finished the game with a melee outlander which has been the most fun class I've played. Both are good builds but I believe the focus build can do more damage if that's all you're into. Clarifying that it's not the highest DPS, offering an "alternative and highly viable" build, it's not min/maxed to the extreme.but it's more fun, please consider it! That's just way different from saying: Going strength build with a shotgun build or going focus with a pistols build. They set the tone for the gameplay loop that even spawned games like Destiny and Borderlands. Though, oddly, the way you phrased it doesn't bug me at all. When it comes to the classic isometric action RPG genre, games like Diablo and Diablo II have a lot to answer for. When we talk about 'optimization' or 'the best builds' or somesuch in an ARPG like TL2, the ultimate metric we're really talking about is 'dead monsters per unit time.' That's success in an ARPG. Since OP didn't ask for a gamut of suggestions, it seems appropriate to answer the question he did ask. I would like a 2H Engineer build that utilizes 2H weapon dps and emberquake. You want dex first, and you don't want to focus on strength. I tried building Outlander as melee using Burning Leap to quickly attack enemies, then casting Flaming Glaives when at the center of battle. I'd recommend investing into dex before strength due to the then avaible weapons, these will have more DPS than you would get with just focusing on strength and low level weapons.
